Tips for the coming participants
Well colleagues,
I cannot believe it is the end of the course. It is hard to say goodbye to the distinguished elite global teachers around the world. Throughout, the journey of this online course, I have noticed something to be avoided by the coming group.
I need them to take the course as serious as possible. I do not want to repeat previous remark for my colleagues, but at least there should be a respect to the online netiquette and proofread their contribution, before submitting it.
It is advisable to read the assigned document, before posting, it helps a lot while responding to the participants.

Hi Abdesalam the Course Prefect,
Yes it is true that participants pay much attention to netiquette. It is very important that keeps the learning process civil.
Mayaa_Al-habsi - Nov 18, 2009 7:37 am
It was a very interesting course. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone here. It is very hard to say good-bye. I felt during this course as we were as one family, we have shared ideas and thought together. I would like here to say some tips for the online course participation that I'd like to share with other teachers who take this course in the future that they should read the assigned document before responding to any teacher. It is important to read about the course and keep in touch will all information. I think if everyone does the assignment weekly, this will keep him/her on the right direction

Dear Mayaa and all,
Indeed, we were one outstanding educational family. There were a lot of helping hands around. I have never felt alone during the course. There is always someone to ask or respond to our nonstop queries. There has been an exceptional learning environment. Actually, I would feel sick the moment I thought that, the course is nearly over.
My request is to capitalize on this fruitful experience and to make last forever for the benefits of our students, family, and for an iEARN global citizens.

This is just the beginning
Hi everybody,
I am really sorry but we are asked to give pieces of advice and recommendations, I don't know why you are saying goodbye.
This is just the beginning if you want to make your course successful.
I hope someone will tell me that I am right?

Hi Dear,
It is true that it is just the beginning of our online course. This is a way to give it the meaningful weight. Without putting into effect what we have learned, means the course is just a passing moment. The aftermath is to conduct global project work, continue socializing with this distinguished leaders of teachers who sacrifice their time, money, and energy to make this course successful.
The international conferences should be our venue to meet maintain learning, and teaching for the coming generations. The ship is moving, it will not wait for us, and therefore, we have to contribute at least with a straw to fill in a cup, from which we will all drink the taste of friendship, peace, and harmony.
Abdesalam
Kheira_Mezough - Nov 20, 2009 12:00 am
Hello,
You are right Abdessalam, the ship is moving, but we should never be afraid of the swirl of change, moreover our commitment and devotion and especially collaboration and cooperation will destroy the ice-bergs of challenges though I believe some will melt thanks to the warmth of social skills that we are building.

Kheira

Do yourself a favor
Online courses grant you a wonderful experience.
Never hesitate to register for such an exceptional learning environment.
True that you don't meet your course mates but you will become friends.
When having an assignment, remember that you gave homework to your students, and then you will feel your duty to achieve it.
Though planning is vital, you might not follow it for a reason or another, so don't panic, don't give up and overcome the challenge.
When you face obstacles, make sure you will have the course facilitators by your side.
Do yourself a favor to join the online community.
I wish you all the best.

Hi Dear,
I do totally agree with you for doing a favor to ourselves. By doing so, we do countless favors to our beloved students. Certainly, we are not working for paycheck. If not we do not need to bother. We have
To be the hope of this work
Be candles in this solid darkness
Be rain in this unbearable drought
Be angels to break away from dirt
Be honest to save our souls
Befriend with our global colleagues
Be serious in achieving the best
Saying goodbye or not does not matter
As far as there is someone who would listen to
Talk to you understand you
Share and care
Please, do not say that

Hi Abdesalam,
I am I permitted to call the "Morocco Wizard". In my name activity, you wrote these words about yourself. “
"A" is for active and always on time".
"A” is for adventurous and always on top" You have really exhibited these qualities. . More grease to your elbows.
Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 22, 2009 9:41 am
Hello Senorfe,
It is a good idea to go back to our first emails to discover and check if our assumptions turned to be adequate. However, would like to further explain what you mean by “Moroccan Wizzard” Is it one ‘z” or two. Then what does it men in your culture? In our culture, calling somebody a “wizard” would be an insult. In addition, practicing witchery, as the word would suggest is not allowed in our culture.

Sheikha
Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 20, 2009 1:45 pm
Dear Sheikha,
You have done a nice job in submitting you project plan. I think you need to consider the following items:
1- Content area= what subject do you teach?
2- Knowledge that students would gain is not limited to learning about other countries; there must be other components to think about, isn’t that so?
3- You seem to forget dealing with a- possible skills and b- possible activities that you are targeting.
Abdesalam
Sheikha_Al-Ajmi - Nov 20, 2009 2:12 pm
Hello Abdesalam,
If you notice I mentioned in the content area=The use of English language.
Of course, they won't only learn about other countries, they will improve their own writing and speaking skills but I thought that in all of the projects students will learn how to improve their English skills and sub-skills but in this amazing project they will learn something new. They will be able to know how people in other countries celebrate and they will be to read about the traditions and cultures of countries they have never visited or seen.
I thought writing the possible skills would be kind of a repeat to what I have mentioned before besides I didn't think it was needed to write them.
The Possible skills:
Computer skills
English language skills
Artistic skills
The Possible activities:
Oral presentations.
Thanks for your comments.

Hello Anup,
You have tried to do your best. However, there is a set of questions that you should be answered to have your complete reflection paper. Could you, please, reconsider the four questions, again?
Could you, please, edit your paper before you upload it? It is not feasible to have all you have written in one slide of PowerPoint presentation. I suggest using either word format or use many slides to help us concentrate on your reflection.
I am wondering why, you have uploaded the same product "your reflection paper" twice, with the same format and content.

Dear Hasnaa,
You have a well-written and convincing project plan.
However, according to the project plan template, you need to include in plan the following items
1- Timetable: at least you could have an idea how to proceed once you want to start implementing your projects. You may modify later as you wish.
2- Your conclusion activities need to be detailed little bit to take account of other mentioned elements
3- You need to incorporate the possible skills and activities you intend to accomplish

One has to update his/her skills on a regular basis, if not we will be left behind. What is terrible is that when we will resume our learning process, it would be too late to catch up with the coming generation.

Really ODD
It is really a pity when you keep repeating the same observations. Some colleagues of they are interested to learn and change because they do not care or they do not read the posts at all.
1- I have repeated countless time that content area would be the subjects we are teaching.
2- There is a template for the project plan to follow so as not to miss to answer any particular point.
3- For reflection paper, it is obvious that there is a set of questions to be in answered and according to the requirement of the course.
It is not practical to find similar flaws after such number of posted emails
Please; would you tell me that I am wrong?

Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 16, 2009 11:30 pm
This is my final project lesson plan
I hope to have feedback from the moderators and colleagues to better improve it.

Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 22, 2009 7:24 am
Dear Hasnaa,
You have a well-written and convincing project plan.
However, according to the project plan template, you need to include in plan the following items
1- Timetable: at least you could have an idea how to proceed once you want to start implementing your projects. You may modify later as you wish.
2- Your conclusion activities need to be detailed little bit to take account of other mentioned elements
3- You need to incorporate the possible skills and activities you intend to accomplish
Good luck

I like your reflection very much, especially when talking about professional development. I believe that it is a life-long journey. One has to update his/her skills on a regular basis, if not we will be left behind. What is terrible is that when we will resume our learning process, it would be too late to catch up with the coming generation.
I have an observation, you must have already participated in an iEARN forum, for you have a big number emails, now, is that so?

Week 8 : Sharing Projects
Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 16, 2009 2:06 pm
Dear colleagues and friends,
There should be a follow up activities to stay connected with our colleagues in the online course. “Teddy Bear” is very short, but pregnant with loads of meanings. Small kids with the help of their tutors ware able to set uninterrupted connection with the pupil they have shared their learning experience by exchanging their teddy bears and celebrating their achievement through the net. They have learned and improved quite a lot. For content, They have learned about food and art through entertainment. In addition, They have been trained on writing, reading, computer, and linguistic skills
Therefore, as grown up, I am sure to find numerous ways to prolong my learning experience. I will collaborate with my international friend to have an alumni association (Kheira), our forum female leader’s suggestion.” Now, I have all the needed data, I will put what I have learned into practice through participating and involving my students in iEARN’s projects. I am also, inviting our colleagues to Morocco, especially there is an annually conference that is held regularly by the end of March and beginning of April. I can work with my course-maters via the teacher’s iEARN forum.
What’s more, I will create a blog, PBwork, yahoo group, depending on the colleagues’ desire for more sharing. It would be an easy way to facilitate our group effort.

Dear colleagues and mates,
The "Teddy Bear" project is just well design, and, as you can all see it, the kids have enjoyed it so much. So, what will we become after this course?
The question here is that, what can we, teachers, of this course keep in memory for some of us new in this collaboration group.
I then want to suggest. Can we be given the opportunity to also undertake card exchange project? I believe this will keep us in touch to make difference in the world.

Hi! Everyone,
"It is more blessed to give than receive"...This video brings a unique idea
of sending each other just not the teddy bears but their sentiments as well.
I think we can not only share our formal project, but can also make a habit to send each other greeting cards on international days, festivals ,cultural, customary events, along with brief description about the events. So it will be a cultural exchange combined with writing skills, it can become an ongoing project and also one day it will become a record book of world's events/festivals....

These are excellent ideas to exchange greetings to congratulate people who have a national, religious festival or ceremonies. Therefore, we have to be given the calendar of each country. Mine is the following:

2- The Green March November 6
3- The Independence Day November1 8
4- The Slaughtering Feast Dulhijja 10 (Hijri Calendar)
5- The First Moharram Moharram 1 (Hijri Calendar)
6- Christmas January 1

Dear Colleagues
The "Teddy Bears" project is an amazing project. The teddy bear exchange seems to be irrelevant from the its physical prospective but the significance goes with great meaning. Understanding of culture diversity, improve writing skills and promote unity in a cross-cultural world.
For Instance, Bee project Facilitators have link my school with another school from a distance country that my students had to use almost 25 minutes to find on the world map (Slovenia) yet we will be interacting with the help of the internet. Regardless of the distance, language difference and culture we can exchange messages, share experiences and learn new ideas from across the digital divide.

The Teddy Bear Exchange project was something very soothing and meaningful to view. There was beauty in this simple presentation. Some things which may be created to share project work, I have summarized as follows:
1. The exchanges were cultural. The students involved learned about the culture of a place they may not have known.
2. This video showed the necessity of remaining in contact throughout and maybe even after the project has long been implemented to ensure that the best is made of such learning experiences.
2. A video recording of the steps involved will serve the purpose of an album to look back at as well as a guide for future projects and as motivation to get other teachers involved in project based learning
3. The project based learning has far reaching implications as in food, art , language and not to forget the fun students have.
4. The experiences of the students participating in the project may be shared with near and dear ones and their attitude, ideas towards the project may also be recorded.
5. Communication skills through the medium of language and computer skills are also developed.
6. The project video also put forward the idea of recording their experiences through diaries be it paper or digital.
7. Asking students and teachers to reflect on experiences may result in lifelong learning.
Abdesalam_Zouita - Nov 19, 2009 5:55 am
Hello Gillian,
A nice and to the point reflection on the Teddy bear video
What I like best is the idea of involving parents in the projects. It is an interesting issue since the parent’s roles is quite significant in enhancing their children’s performance. When parents and school are collaborating, there are always titanic and marvelous outcomes.

Kheira_Mezough - Nov 19, 2009 9:06 am
Hello Everybody,
Sorry for being late to post my comment but make sure I have read all yours.
I am so moved by the video "picture & music" needless to talk about the great inspiring ideas. So simple but the act of collaboration has been hosted by the kids' hearts. It has challenged all the geographical, cultural, space and time limits and reached its destination. Honestly speaking, we are in the 21st century, and though I have no doubt about the teachers' support and guidance, I do believe that it is the kids will and faith that brought the Teddy Bears safe ashore to their final destination.
This gives me more trust in my students' existing capacities that they will find the way to reach their e-classmates. So I still believe that:" Leading Kids to learning treasures, gives the teacher untold pleasures."
My respect to the kids of El Salvador and Taiwan
And special thanks to: Ms Virginia Kaczorkiewicz

Yes, dear,
Indeed " Leading Kids to learning treasures, gives the teacher untold pleasures."
Here some more saying about teachers take from the page link bellow:
http://www.dennydavis.net/poemfiles/teachers.htm
•The art of teaching is the art of assisting in discovery.
•Behind every successful student is an exhausted teacher!
•Blessed are the teachers, for they open minds, touch hearts and share the future.
•Children are a great deal more apt to follow your lead than the way you point.
•Discover wildlife: be a teacher!
•For every person wishing to teach there are thirty not wanting to be taught.
•A good teacher deserves an apple. You deserve the whole tree!
•A great teacher loves teaching others to love learning.
•He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.
